After five and a half years of blogging, I’ve decided it’s time to go back to basics with my blog for several reasons…
Views shouldn’t mean anything if you enjoy something
For the longest time, I was getting upset that I was only getting 30 views a day at one point, but now that I’ve started promoting my blog, that jumped to 100 views a day, which is a big improvement, but I’m still a tad bit upset because with that low of a viewcount, it would be impossible to make this blog make an income, so I just decided to say screw it and enjoy blogging. Even though I want to monetize this blog again at some point, now doesn’t feel like the right time to do it, so my goal is to just blog and go with the flow.
Bringing the joy back into blogging
Up until 2017-2018, blogging was seen as a thing to be done for fun, and not as a source of income, but now that it’s being seen more as a source of income, it’s hard to see the joy in blogging when you see many other people who are making big bucks from their blogs and all you get are pennies if that. Going back to basics with my blog means that there are no ads on my blog and I blog about whatever comes to mind or whatever inspires me with no holds barred.
Rediscovering the purpose in blogging
By bringing my blog back to basics, I’m rediscovering what it means to be a blogger. Being a blogger isn’t about taking photos of luxe items; it’s about sharing your love for whatever you’re blogging about, whether it’s beauty or lifestyle. Being a blogger is also about giving advice to fellow people reading your blog, and I hope to do that by bringing my blog back to basics and not minding what I write about.
Have you ever brought your blog back to basics?
